Who We Are

Amanda Clayson and Sam PriestleyAfter a chance meeting a few years ago we discovered our shared passions for ‘all things nature’ and our desire to nourish ourselves through a host of different activities in the local green spaces. The seeds for Prestwich Rooted were sown!Bringing together people from across our local community is a key part of what makes us tick (with over 30 years of community development work each). We are delighted to build on the successes of the last 2 years, welcoming new skilled folk in as collaborators and widening further the participation into Prestwich Rooted community. In this 3rd year, our passion and purpose continue to grow – further enhancing local community connections and wellbeing, creating activities in the beautiful nature around Prestwich. We offer a blend of sessions - some facilitated by local practitioners and some that celebrate and share our own passions and ‘know how’.Welcome aboard!

Our Charter

Roots
• We are largely volunteers and appreciate everyone has skills and these should be valued and encouraged.
-We are about keeping things safe and simple and in nature.
• We are about wellbeing . Well-being principle ‘I will try and enhance your well-being and not negatively impact on you, if you do the same for me.’
Branches
• We aim to create enjoyable and well being space for all. We value your ideas and feedback. Help us grow by sharing your feedback.
• All Weather is beautiful and out of anyone’s control. We work with it and celebrate it but this means sessions may have to vary on the day. I hope you can join us in being creative about this.
• As volunteers we all have other branches to our lives. We will communicate as best we can but only want to use Social media in proportion to other communication like verbal conversation and wonderful Prestwich community networks.
-All sessions are in nature , let’s leave the beauty we found. Leave only footprints , take only memories and forage only where nature is in abundance.
Leaves
• The facilitator does want to be inclusive but the sessions are short so please allow the content that is planned to flow. If you have other prescribe to share maybe invite others for a cuppa or chat after the session.
• If the session doesn’t work for you then please feel free to carry on with your day.. again all feedback after the event is welcome and helps the project thrive.
• If the Facilitator explains some basic notes or rules for your safety please follow this. Much Appreciated
New shoots
• We very much hope and welcome that people ‘branch off’ and keep networking outside the group. It is wonderful to make contacts and friends.
-Please note. Only things advertised under Prestwich Rooted website are events we can take any responsibility for. But we hope you enjoy new networks and a forest of new opportunities because you took part.
• We live with amazing green space around us, there is so much to enjoy . Ours is pilot project but who knows what will root next!!
Thanks for being with Prestwich Rooted.
